One of the first things I stumbled on while sipping my coffee this morning is this lovely little clip featuring a group of bright, socially aware, emotionally intelligent children discussing Osama Bin Laden's alleged death. It gives me hope beyond measure to know the kids are alright. Our planet is doing pretty damn fine if it's able to churn out and nurture such beautiful, wise little people.

Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) is a perennial, herbaceous flowering plant native to eastern North America from Nova Scotia, Canada southward to Florida, United States. It is the only species in the genus Sanguinaria, and is included in the family Papaveraceae and most closely related to Eomecon of eastern Asia.

Bloodroot is also known as bloodwort, red puccoon root, and sometimes pauson. Bloodroot has also been known as tetterwort in America, although that name is used in Britain to refer to Greater Celandine.

Bloodroot is one of many plants whose seeds are spread by ants, a process called myrmecochory. The seeds have a fleshy organ called an elaiosome that attracts ants. The ants take the seeds to their nest, where they eat the elaiosomes, and put the seeds in their nest debris, where they are protected until they germinate. They also get the added bonus of growing in a medium made richer by the ant nest debris.

Some animal food additives sold and distributed in Europe such as Phytobiotics' Sangrovit contain sanguinarine and chelerythrine. On 14 May 2003, Cat Holmes reported in Georgia Faces^[17] that Jim Affolter and Selima Campbell, horticulturists at the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, were meeting with Phytobiotics to relate their research into commercial cultivation of bloodroot. It is also used in the mole remover Dermatend.

Bloodroot extracts have also been promoted by some supplement companies as a treatment or cure for cancer, but the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has listed some of these products among its "187 Fake Cancer 'Cures' Consumers Should Avoid".^[18]

Bloodroot is a popular red natural dye used by Native American artists, especially among southeastern rivercane basketmakers.^[19]

So I was thinking the other day, how it's possible to change the form of the human body by ingesting common hormones, or by injecting them.

Progesterone and estrogen can cause a human being to grow breasts, lose hair, change vocal pitch, change skin colour and texture, change bone structure.. what else?

Hormones have the ability to allow organisms to alter their own gender.

Now, I don't have any intention of changing my own gender, I love being a woman. But what I am interested in is transmogrification.

I would love to experience what it would be like to turn myself into a hawk and skim the sky, or turn myself into a horse and feel all that power within me, a ton of my own raw horse power, how it would feel to gallop along a cliffside overlooking the coast....... ah, man, I can totally feel it. It must be wonderful.

If we are able to transmogrify ourselves and change ourselves from one gender to the next by ingesting primitive hormones, there must be a way of changing the human body from one organism to the next, by ingestion or manipulation of our bodily chemistry. I feel it in my bones, I do, it's utterly possible. Just gotta figure out how....

"During the heated power struggle in Iran, individuals close to president Mahmoud Ahmandinejad and chief of staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei have reportedly been arrested and charged with using magic and enlisting the help of Djinn (genies) to aid the administration. From The Guardian:

Ahmadinejad's obsession with the hidden imam is well known. He often refers to him in his speeches and in 2009 said that he had documentary evidence that the US was trying to prevent Mahdi's return."
