The Return of the Family Business aka The Monarchy and the Patriarchy

we went terribly wrong when we branched away from the family business and dehumanized industry.

family businesses can be messy to run, emotionally, but they also tend to be a hell of a lot more honest and manageable, ethically, because executive officers and workers all have an invested emotional interest in the business, rather than just a monetary one.

you can't distance yourself emotionally from a family business, not the way we can a legal Person (a Corporation).

if one of your uncles or aunts or siblings or a member of your business-family takes it upon themselves to start murdering factory workers by working them to death then, whoa, that person is obviously emotionally ill and needs to taken from the reins and given a nice quiet office to file paperwork in for a couple of years. so the rest of the business-family needs to get together and work that shit out. (pardon my French).

but with a legal Person, with a Corporation, human beings divorce themselves from the entity, they remove blame from themselves and place it on the legal Person, the Corporation. if factory workers are underpaid or overworked or abused, its the Company's fault, not a human being, despite the fact that a human being is making the decisions for the Company, acting as a sentient figurehead for a non-sentient legal Person.

we did the same with government when we moved from Monarchies and Patriarchies and came up with the philosophical and physical fallacy that is Democracy. we removed the blame from human beings and placed it on the legal Person, the State, the Government, the Legislative Body.

we did the same with religion when we placed all our sins on the Holy Body, Jesus Christ, and let a myth take the fall for our moral transgressions.

we need to start taking responsibility for ourselves and others and stop placing the blame - the shame - on a manmade construct, on a legal Person.
